Boat Rental

Anyone who wants to spend a lazy summer day on a boat but doesn't have the money available to spend on buying their very own boat may want to consider going through with a boat rental. There are marinas located all across the country that you can go through and which will offer a variety of boat rental options.

Maybe you are interested in getting a houseboat rental or fishing boat rental, but other than choosing the type of boat that you want to rent, there are a few other things that you are going to have to take care of before you can get a boat rental.

How Long to Rent

One of the first things that you are going to have to figure out is how long you want to rent the boat for. There are different rules and regulations from one marina to another, but most will allow you to choose whether you want to rent the boat by the hour or by the day. Some even allow you to keep the boat overnight if you like.

Just be aware that you are probably going to have to pay insurance for the boat on top of the boat rental charge. What the insurance is going to do on your boat rental is make sure that in the event that something were to go wrong for instance if there were any damage done to the boat, that they would have the funds available to cover it.

Chartered or Not

You are also going to have to decide whether or not you want the boat to be chartered. If the boat is chartered this means that someone is going to be there on the boat with you basically taking you on the ride. You tell them where you want to go and they are going to take care of driving the boat around.

This is good for several reasons, but more than anything it saves you from having to worry about driving yourself around and getting lost and most of all, causing damage to the boat. But then again a lot of people like to get their boat rental without a charter because they want to have privacy while they are on their boat.

There are lots of great boat charter and boat rental companies out there that you can turn to, and this is a really great way to get yourself out on a boat when you do not have the money to pay for a boat and buy it right out.

WHat is the average cost for a Boat rental per day or per hour in new York?

For example an 18 foot Sea Fox

Where in NY? It depends on what body of water you're renting at and its popularity with tourists. For example, renting a dumpy 19-foot bow rider on Lake George will run you about $60 per hour.

With gas prices up, it's likely higher.
