Montana Fishing On The Fly
Montana Fishing On The Fly

In every part of the world, you can find several kinds of sports activities, be it for leisure or for fitness purposes. At times, people used to spend their extra time with nature through camping, while others prefer to spend time within the four corners of the sports arena. Whatever your choice is, it drives into one goal and that is towards self-fulfillment.
Do you think in fly fishing the goal is the same? Fishing alone is known by everybody as a source of living. People's ancestors depended on the wealth of the environment before the development of modern comforts. Their everyday survival is based on what they can get from nature.
Due to the unstoppable technological advances, it is a different thing today. Fly fishing in particular is more than a livelihood activity; it is already considered a sport and a form of recreation for some. This is often referred to as the heaven on earth for anglers.
Fly fishing have been around the world. Certain states are patronizing and developing the said angling technique because more and more people are getting interested with it, both young and adults.
Montana is one of the best places for anglers who love fly fishing. The place is popular for being an extremely attractive state. This lies between the borders of Wyoming and Dakota that is found in Canada.
Montana is the fourth largest city that measures more than a hundred thousand square miles. Majority of the part in Montana are plains and states. On the other hand, it also possesses the major rivers in the world. In fact, they have the Roe Rivers which is considered as the shortest river in the world.
Yellowstone, a major river in Montana, is excellent for fly fishing. It offers an outstanding area for fishing trout. It also has varieties of fish that awaits every angler. On the other hand, it has also rivers that are inactive and not advisable for anglers, not because of the absence of fishing, but due to the less challenging fly fishing activity that you can find in these particular places.
The rivers in Montana are also more legendary as compared to that of Madison. The history of Montana also presented that it is not only pure bounty that they offer but also devastation for the anglers. It was in the year 1990 when a plaguing disease bombarded the rivers in Montana. This caused so many frustrations for the anglers. The disease even extended across the globe. It has been found that the cause was a parasite that infects all the marine resources most particularly the fish.
Luckily, after the tragic incident that happened during the 90's, it opened new hope for the fly fishing anglers. It was five years ago when there was a recovery that took place on the lives of the marine and aquatic resources in Montana rivers. The state's government held several programs and advocacies towards the recovery and enhancement of the conservation of the marine resources. The success of their program was also because of the aid granted by the different public and private institutions.
Fly fishing in Montana now is more than a lifetime experience for the anglers. They usually catch the biggest fish such as the Browns, Cutthroats, Rainbows and Graylings. These are considered as the most prominent fishes in the United States. So, after the incident, there was a new beginning for the anglers.
is it possible to use fly fishing lures for rod and reel?

yes. and do quite well. add a splitshot a couple feet above the fly for casting weight for wets and streamers. add a small clear float 2 or 3 feet above the hook with dry flies.

My idea of heaven on earth is surrounded by ALL my friends inside a giant chocolate brownie with tunnels inside.
My second best heaven on earth( possibly more realistic)
Being with all my friends in a hired out swimming pool
and my third is being with everyone I love at nightime in a garden xx
I like this question. It made me think ALOT. so have a star. x
Today, the whole world is going solar. There is a a lot of investment in this sector for good cause. India has just done a wonderful job of approving plan to generate 20GW of solar energy by 2020 and 220GW 3o years later. For this it is now emerging as a energy leader in the world.
India is setting to literally make this form of power central and competitive with fossil fuel energy. This power is planned to be generated both centrally and decentrally (through communities not accessible thru commercial energy). That is it is looking forward to make solar cheap, which as far as global problem is concerned is a very good untertaking. This however could very likely be a pain in the neck for selling costly electricity of the himalayas including that of Upper Karnali. Every hydro electricity in Nepal is costly including that of Kali Gandaki HEP which also uses the loop (geological structure) like Karnali. Perhaps Upper Karnali may sound lucrative now, but looking at the prospects of solar all around the world and especially in India, Upper Karnali and other similar project is a very high risk project.
Karnali river, for all the publicity it is gaining in the world as top 10 rafting rivers in the world, should be left alone. To find the authenticity of this last claim all you can do is type “top 10 rafting river in the world” in google and look at what comes out. You may perhaps be astonished to find that even a news media in US, msnbc (msnbc.com) mentioning Karnali for top 10 tier.
As per FULFILLING ENERGY DEMAND is concerned, Nepal should look forward to the Indians for lesson on solar energy production at decentralised level and plan accordingly. This is a doable way as it does not envolve huge risky project. And by the way gone are the days that claim solar power is expensive. Similary, hydropower is bound to be obsolete. If Nepal still stubbornly sticks to this old dogma called “hydropower”, Nepal is bound to lag behind.

I'm a day or two late to this, as my oldest son got married Saturday, and I've been busy.
My Dad was always kind of unassuming, hardworking, but mostly quiet. He pursued my Mom pretty hard, and they married in 1945 just after the war. I think he already knew that Mom's health wasn't perfect, but over the the next 15 years, as both of them became more aware of Mom's many illnesses, Dad just stepped up and helped out. When medical bills took most of the income, Dad, who had been a big time outdoorsman, hunting and fishing, sold his hunting rifles and fly fishing gear to pay for Christmas presents for my two older brothers and I. He sent us away in the summers to work on my Grandfather's farm, which we always thought was great fun, but was more of an excuse to get Mom in for important surgeries or hospital visits without worrying us kids (or having us underfoot).
He helped me learn how to work on my cars, taught me through his careful example how to treat my own wife, and how to serve in church. That included learning how to sleep sitting up on the stand in church, a trait that I observed when he served in two different bishoprics, and I later had occasion to put to use myself!
Mom, in spite of three different bouts of cancer, thyroid problems, high blood pressure, phlebitis, and too many other problems to list here, lived to be 80 years old, and died of complications from a fall at the hospital. I think it is in large part because Dad took such good care of her.
Dad lived another year and a half, dying the same day my daughter was married, about 5 years ago. We got the word during the reception in our back yard here in Washington, that he had passed away in Provo. According to my brother who was with him at the time, his last words were directed to my Mom: “We've got to go, Doris, we'll be late”. I have often thought that he and Mom got to the reception before it was over.
Got it. Snakes not so bad, but spiders could be. Lol! I hate spiders the most. However not enough to miss out on some Texas creek fly fishing.
Guys I really appreciate the tips. In New Mexico the fisherman are so guarded about their secrets. I always hated that. It was like there wasn't enough fish in the river to share some tips. Oh well I'm in Texas now, thank god.
So I hit up academy sports a couple days ago and found a pair of zip off lightweight fishing pants for 9 dollars. This place is crazy. They have awesome prices on their clothes. I wish their fly fishing gear was a little better.
Any how thanks again for the tips and I hope to share some recon photos of a spot I found in between georgetown and cedar park, on the Spanish oak creek. Looks pretty good.
